Method

Preparation / Client Intake

1

Have the client complete and sign the consent form and review medical history, contraindications (pregnancy, isotretinoin use within 6 months, active cold sores, open wounds, recent laser/Botox within 2 weeks). Confirm no active allergies to ingredients.

2

Seat client comfortably, place disposable headband, drape neck and chest, and offer warm towel for comfort. Explain steps and expected sensations (warming/tingling during active step, cooling during mask).

Cleansing

3

Remove any makeup with a gentle makeup remover if present. Apply 2 tbs cleanser to damp skin and massage gently for 60–90 seconds to remove surface oils, sunscreen, and debris.

4

Rinse thoroughly with distilled or sterile water and pat skin dry with a clean towel.

Preparation / Degreasing

5

If the client's skin is oily, lightly apply the alcohol-free degreasing toner to a cotton pad and sweep across the face and neck to remove residual oil and improve penetration. Allow to air dry for 30 seconds.

Clinically Active Resurfacing (iS Clinical Fire & Ice Step)

6

Application

Using a fresh cotton applicator or disposable spatula, apply approximately 5 ml of the professional-strength resurfacing solution evenly to the face and neck, avoiding the immediate eye area and lips. Work in sections (forehead, cheeks, nose, chin) for even coverage.

7

Exposure

Start the timer for 3–7 minutes depending on the client's skin tolerance and the product professional guidelines. Expect mild warming, tingling, and temporary erythema. Constantly monitor the client's comfort and skin response. For sensitive skin or first-time clients, begin at 2–3 minutes; for normal to tolerant skin, 4–6 minutes; do not exceed the manufacturer's maximum exposure time.

8

Removal

When the exposure time is complete or if the client experiences intense burning or blistering, immediately remove the solution by gently wiping with damp sterile gauze or cotton pads soaked in cool distilled water. Continue until no residue remains and the skin feels neutral. Do not scrub aggressively.

Cooling / Soothing Mask (the 'Ice' step)

9

Apply 30 ml of the cooling hydrating mask evenly over the face and neck to neutralize any heat and soothe the skin. Smooth the mask with a spatula, then place chilled ice globes on the mask or perform gentle cooling massage with a chilled roller for 3–5 minutes to augment comfort.

10

Allow mask to sit for 5–10 minutes (or per product instructions). Remove with cool water and soft sponges, then pat skin dry.

Post-treatment Hydration & Protection

11

Dispense 2 tsp hydrating serum and apply in thin layers across the face and neck, gently pressing to aid absorption. Follow immediately with 1 tbs soothing repair cream, massaging lightly to restore barrier function.

12

Finish with broad-spectrum physical sunscreen (SPF 50+) applied generously to face, neck, and exposed décolletage. Advise reapplication per normal sunscreen guidelines if outdoors. Offer mineral makeup if the client wishes to leave with light coverage.

Aftercare / Homecare Instructions

13

On-Table Counseling

Provide the client with the aftercare kit and review verbal instructions: avoid direct sun exposure for 7–14 days, use SPF 50+ daily, do not pick or exfoliate treated skin, cleanse gently with a mild cleanser twice daily, and apply barrier repair cream and hydrating serum as directed.

14

Inform the client that mild redness, tightness, flaking, or light peeling can occur for 2–7 days. Recommend ice or cool compresses for discomfort, and to contact the clinic if there is severe pain, blistering, fever, or signs of infection.
