Method
Base Beverage
Chill glass
If available, chill serving glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes for a colder drink. This step is optional but improves overall refreshment.
Place 1 cup of ice into a 16–20 oz serving glass if you want a cold, diluted fountain drink. If you prefer no ice, skip the ice.
Measure and add 1.5 fl oz of fountain syrup into the glass. Adjust amount to taste: for a stronger flavor increase to 2 fl oz, for lighter flavor reduce to 1 fl oz.
Carefully pour 12 fl oz of cold carbonated water into the glass over the back of a spoon or pour gently to preserve carbonation and reduce foaming. Leave a small headspace (~1 inch) at the top to prevent overflow.
Stir gently 1–2 times with a long bar spoon to incorporate syrup and carbonated water without losing too much fizz.
Optional Add-ins & Garnish
Taste the drink. If you prefer it sweeter, add up to 1/2 tsp simple syrup and stir gently to combine.
Garnish with a mint sprig or a maraschino cherry on top or on a cocktail pick as desired.
Serve immediately with a straw or reusable stirrer to keep the drink mixed. Recommend consuming within 10–15 minutes for best carbonation and flavor.
