Method
Preparing the Shrimp
Boil the Shrimp
In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning and the juice of 1 lemon. Stir to combine.
Cook the Shrimp
Add the fresh shrimp to the boiling water. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove from heat and drain the shrimp.
Chill the Shrimp
Transfer the cooked shrimp to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let sit for about 5 minutes, then drain again and set aside.
Making the Cocktail Sauce
Combine Ingredients
In a medium bowl, mix together 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of horseradish, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce.
Season the Sauce
Add salt to taste, stirring until well combined. Adjust the horseradish or lemon juice if desired for more heat or acidity.
Serving
Plate the Shrimp
Arrange the chilled shrimp on a serving platter.
Serve with Sauce
Serve the shrimp with the cocktail sauce on the side for dipping.
