Preparation of Rice

Cook Jasmine Rice

Rinse jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear. In a pot, combine rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer covered for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit covered for another 10 minutes. Fluff rice with a fork.

Crisp the Rice

Spread the cooked rice on a baking sheet and let it cool completely. Once cooled, heat oil in a pan and fry the rice until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.

Preparation of Sausage

Make Herbal Pork Sausage

In a bowl, combine ground pork with garlic, shallot, lemongrass, fish sauce, cilantro, and chili flakes. Mix well. Form into small sausage shapes. Grill or pan-fry until fully cooked and browned.

Salad Assembly

Combine Salad Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage, sliced radish, tamarind paste, crushed peanuts, coconut flakes, mint, and basil. Toss gently to mix.

Final Assembly

Serve Nam Khao

On a serving plate, layer the crispy rice, followed by the herbal pork sausage. Top with the salad mixture and serve immediately.
