Ingredients
Beers (choose per guest)
Optional accompaniments and garnishes
Serve bottled or canned beers
1. Chill
Keep bottled and canned beers refrigerated at 38–42°F (3–6°C). For quick chilling, place bottles or cans in ice and water for 15–20 minutes or in a freezer for 15–20 minutes (do not forget to remove before freezing).
2. Prepare glassware (optional)
If using a glass, rinse it briefly with cold water and place it in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill with ice water for 2 minutes then dump. This lightly chills the glass and helps preserve carbonation and head.
3. Open and pour (if pouring)
Open the bottle or can. Hold the glass at a 45° angle and pour the beer gently down the side until the glass is about two-thirds full. Tilt the glass upright and pour into the center to create a 1–1.5 inch (2–4 cm) head if desired. For canned beers, you may drink directly from the can if preferred.
4. Serve bottled (Corona specific)
For Corona, optionally insert a lime wedge into the bottle neck or wedge a lime on the rim. If a guest prefers, pour Corona into a chilled glass and add a lime wedge on the rim. For Corona n/a, treat the same way but inform guests it's non-alcoholic.
5. Bucket or cooler service
To serve multiple bottles, fill a beer bucket with a 2:1 mix of ice and cold water (enough to cover the bodies of the bottles). Nestle bottles in the ice, keep the bucket in the shade or a cool area, and replenish ice/water as needed to keep beers chilled.
6. Garnishes and accompaniments
Offer lime wedges for Corona and optional salty snacks. Provide napkins or coasters. If serving with food, suggest pairing lighter lagers (Bud, Bud Light, Coors Light, Michelob Ultra) with fried foods, burgers, or light appetizers; Corona pairs well with seafood and tacos.
7. Safety and service notes
Check ID for age verification where required. Keep non-alcoholic Corona clearly labeled. Monitor guests and follow local service-of-alcohol regulations. Dispose of opened bottles/cans and glassware per venue policy.
