Method
Prepare Cocktail Base
- 1
Combine and chill
In a cocktail shaker or mixing glass add the rum (1.5 oz), strawberry liqueur (0.5 oz), guava puree (1 oz), fresh lime juice (0.5 oz) and simple syrup (0.25 oz). If using strawberry syrup instead of liqueur, reduce simple syrup to 0 or adjust to taste. Fill the shaker halfway with ice.
- 2
Shake vigorously for 8–10 seconds to chill and lightly dilute the base mixture. If you prefer less dilution, stir in the mixing glass and then strain over ice in the serving glass.
Build the Drink
- 3
Fill a highball or Collins glass with crushed ice or large ice cubes (about 1 cup). Fine strain the shaken cocktail base over the ice to remove pulp and seeds if you used fresh guava puree.
- 4
Top gently with 8 oz Topo Chico hard seltzer (strawberry-flavored if available) to reach roughly 4.7% ABV in final volume. Pour slowly to preserve carbonation and avoid overflow.
