Method

French Toast Preparation

1

Whisk the Batter

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until fully combined.

2

Prepare the Pecan Crust

Spread the chopped pecans on a flat plate.

3

Coat the Bread

Dip each slice of Texas toast into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds. Then, press the soaked side of the bread into the chopped pecans to coat it evenly.

4

Cook the French Toast

In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the coated Texas toast slices and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Repeat with remaining butter for the second slice.

Bacon Caramel Sauce Preparation

5

Cook the Bacon

In a medium skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels, then crumble into small pieces.

6

Make the Caramel

In the same skillet, add the brown sugar and heavy cream. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and begins to bubble, about 3-5 minutes.

7

Combine Ingredients

Add the crumbled bacon and butter to the caramel sauce. Stir well until combined and add a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor.
