Black & Tan Brownie Ingredients

Method

Black & Tan Brownie Directions

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

2

Melt Butter and Mix Sugars

In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, remove it from the heat and stir in the granulated sugar and light brown sugar until well combined.

3

Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the large eggs, one at a time, to the butter and sugar mixture, stirring well after each addition. Then, mix in the vanilla extract.

4

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

5

Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

6

Add Beer and Chocolate Chips

Slowly stir in the dark beer until evenly mixed, then fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.

7

Bake the Brownies

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

8

Cool and Dust with Powdered Sugar

Once baked, remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan for about 15 minutes. Then, transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Before serving, dust the top with powdered sugar.
