Method

Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

2

Prepare Ramekins

Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with flour to prevent the cakes from sticking.

Making the Cake

3

Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth.

4

Mix Sugar and Eggs

In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, and egg yolks until pale and slightly thickened.

5

Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring continuously to combine.

6

Add Dry Ingredients

Sift the flour, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt into the chocolate mixture. Gently fold until just combined.

7

Fill Ramekins

Evenly distribute the batter into the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.

Baking

8

Bake the Cakes

Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center remains soft.

9

Cool Slightly

Remove from the oven and let the cakes cool for 1 minute. Carefully run a knife around the edges to loosen.

Serving

10

Serve Warm

Invert the ramekins onto serving plates. Serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
