Coffee & Whiskey
Topping
Glass & Garnish (optional)
Method
Prepare Glass
Mix Coffee & Whiskey
Add the measured brown sugar into the warmed glass.
Pour in the hot espresso (about 2 oz). Stir briskly with the long-handled spoon until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Add the Jameson Irish whiskey (1.5 oz) and gently stir once to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness if desired (add up to 1/2 tsp more sugar or a splash of simple syrup).
Whipped Cream Topping
Lightly whip the heavy cream until it holds soft peaks. Do not over-whip — it should still be pourable.
Using the back of a spoon held just above the coffee surface, slowly pour or dollop the whipped cream so it floats on top of the hot coffee. Aim for a 1/2–3/4 inch layer of cream.
Optionally grate a little nutmeg or dust cocoa over the cream for aroma and appearance.
Serve
Serve immediately while the coffee is hot and the cream remains chilled. Instruct guests to drink the coffee through the cream for the classic texture and flavor contrast.
