Potatoes

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Peel and Cut Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips, approximately 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soak Potatoes

Place the cut potato strips in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch and makes the fries crispier.

Frying

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 4

    Dry the Potatoes

After soaking, drain the potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  3. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add a batch of the dried potato strips into the hot oil. Do not overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  4. 6

    Drain and Season

Once cooked, use a slotted spoon to remove the fries from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Immediately season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika to taste.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve Hot

Serve the crispy golden fries hot as a side dish. Enjoy them with your favorite dipping sauces.
