Salad Base

Method

Prepare Salad Base

  1. 1

    Wash and Chop Romaine

Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water. Shake off excess water and pat dry with a paper towel. Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Grate Parmesan Cheese

Using a grater, grate the Parmesan cheese into fine shreds and set aside.

  3. 3

    Prepare Croutons

If using store-bought croutons, measure out 1 cup. If making homemade croutons, cube day-old bread, toss with olive oil, salt, and garlic powder, and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.

Make Dressing

  1. 4

    Combine Dressing Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper until smooth and well combined.

Assemble Salad

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a large salad bowl, add the chopped romaine lettuce, grated Parmesan cheese, and croutons. Drizzle the dressing over the top.

  2. 6

    Toss Salad

Using salad tongs or your hands, gently toss the salad to ensure the dressing evenly coats the lettuce, cheese, and croutons.

  3. 7

    Serve

Divide the salad into serving plates and enjoy fresh.
