Prepare the Calamari
In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Dredge the calamari rings in the mixture until fully coated.

Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F (190°C).

Fry the Calamari
Working in batches, carefully add the coated calamari rings to the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Prepare the Brown Butter Aioli
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat and cook until it turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly. In a bowl, mix the mayonnaise, minced garlic, and the browned butter. Stir until well combined.

Serve the fried calamari hot with hot cherry peppers on the side and spicy marinara sauce for dipping. Enjoy!
