Maytag Blue Cheese Dip
Method
For the Onion Rings
- 1
Prepare the Onions
Peel the onions and slice them into 1-inch thick rings. Separate the rings and set aside.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a large bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually whisk in the cold sparkling water until smooth.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large heavy-bottomed pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Batter the Onion Rings
Dip each onion ring into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off.
- 5
Fry the Onion Rings
Carefully place the battered onion rings into the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
For the Maytag Blue Cheese Dip

In a medium bowl, combine Maytag blue cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, and lemon juice. Mix until well blended and creamy.
