Method

Steak Preparation

1

Season the Steak

In a small bowl, mix together chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this spice mixture onto both sides of the skirt steak. Drizzle with olive oil and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

2

Cook the Steak

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated skirt steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Fries Preparation

3

Prepare the Potatoes

Cut the potatoes into matchstick fries. Rinse them under cold water to remove excess starch, then pat them dry with paper towels.

4

Bake the Fries

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss the cut potatoes with olive oil, salt, and paprika. Spread them in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden.

Sweet Chili Jus Preparation

5

Make the Jus

In a small saucepan, combine sweet chili sauce, beef broth, and soy sauce. In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then stir in the cornstarch slurry to thicken. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat.
