Calamari
Dipping Sauces
Method
Prepare the Calamari
Clean the Calamari
If using whole calamari, clean and cut them into rings. Rinse and pat dry.
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
Coat the Calamari
Dredge the calamari rings in the flour mixture until evenly coated.
Fry the Calamari
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).
Fry the Calamari
Carefully add the coated calamari rings to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried calamari from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with cocktail and sweet chili sauces.
