Method

Prepare the Chips

1

Cut Potatoes

Peel and cut the russet potatoes into thick strips to make the chips.

2

Fry the Chips

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot. Once hot, add the potato strips and fry until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste.

Prepare the Fish

3

Set Up Breading Station

Set up three bowls: one with flour mixed with salt and pepper, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs.

4

Bread the Fish

Dip each cod fillet first in the flour, then in the egg, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs.

5

Fry the Fish

In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry the breaded cod fillets for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Prepare the Tartar Sauce

6

Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, chopped dill pickles, lemon juice, capers, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir well to combine.

Serve

7

Plate the Dish

Serve the crispy fish alongside the chips. Add a side of tartar sauce and lemon wedges for squeezing over the fish.
