Cocktail

Method

Prepare Glass

1

Chill a rocks or coupe glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water to chill while you prepare the drink.

2

Rub a lime wedge around the glass rim. Pour a small pile of kosher or flaky sea salt onto a plate, then gently press the rim into the salt to coat evenly. Shake off excess salt and set the glass aside.

Mix Cocktail

3

Measure & Add

Add 2 oz blanco tequila, 1 oz fresh lime juice, 1 oz Cointreau (or triple sec), 0.5 oz agave syrup, and 2 dashes of orange bitters (if using) into a cocktail shaker.

4

Ice & Shake

Fill the shaker about two-thirds full with fresh ice (about 1 cup). Cap the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty and well-chilled.

5

Strain

Discard the ice or water from the chilled glass. Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer (or just a Hawthorne if you don't have a fine strainer) to remove ice chips and pulp for a clean texture.

Finish & Serve

6

Express the oils from a lime wheel over the surface by holding the wheel skin-side down and giving it a gentle squeeze, then drop the wheel into the drink or set it on the rim as a garnish.

7

If desired, grate a little lime zest over the top for extra aroma. Serve immediately while cold.

8

Optional adjustments: taste and, if needed, add 0.25–0.5 oz more agave for sweetness or a splash more lime if you prefer brighter acidity. Stir gently if you add anything.
