Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

1

Chill mug

If possible, place a copper mug or the serving glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes before assembling to keep the drink cold longer.

2

Add ice

Fill the chilled mug or glass about three-quarters full with fresh cubed ice (approximately 1 cup).

3

Measure and pour vodka

Using a jigger, measure 2 oz vodka and pour it over the ice.

4

Add lime juice

Juice half a lime (about 0.5 oz) directly into the mug. If you prefer tarter, use a little extra lime to taste.

5

Top with ginger beer

Slowly top the drink with 4 oz chilled ginger beer. Pour gently to preserve carbonation.

6

Stir gently

Use a bar spoon to gently stir the drink 4–6 times to combine vodka, lime juice, and ginger beer without flattening it.

7

Garnish and serve

Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim. Optionally add a slice of candied or fresh ginger and a sprig of mint. Serve immediately while very cold.

Equipment

8

Use the juicer/reamer to extract fresh lime juice and a jigger to measure the vodka. Serve in the chilled copper mug or highball glass, and stir with the bar spoon.
