Cocktail
Method
Cocktail
Combine ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz Socorro Blanco Tequila, 0.75 oz Giffard Pamplemousse, 0.5 oz Salers Gentiane, 0.5 oz Lustau Manzanilla, 0.5 oz fresh grapefruit juice, 0.25 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.25 oz simple syrup.
Add ice and shake
Fill the shaker about two-thirds full with ice. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is very cold and slightly frosted.
Strain
Discard the ice or water from the chilled glass. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe/Nick & Nora using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer to remove small ice shards and pulp for a smooth texture.
Garnish and serve
Express the oils from a grapefruit twist over the cocktail by holding the twist over the surface and giving it a firm squeeze, then rub the peel briefly around the rim and drop it into the glass (or float a thin grapefruit wheel). Serve immediately.
Optional adjustments
If the drink tastes too bitter from the Salers or grapefruit, add 0.125–0.25 oz more simple syrup to balance. If it feels too sweet, reduce the grapefruit liqueur by 0.125 oz and increase lime juice by 0.125 oz for more brightness.
