Method

Cocktail

1

Build the spritz

Fill a large wine glass or tulip spritz glass about two-thirds full with the large ice cubes (about 4–5 cubes).

2

Pour 1.5 oz elderflower liqueur into the glass over the ice.

3

Add 0.75 oz Italicus to the glass.

4

Gently pour 3 oz chilled Prosecco over the liqueurs. Pour slowly down the side or over the back of a spoon to preserve bubbles and create a layered look if desired.

5

Top with 0.5 oz chilled club soda or sparkling water to add a light, refreshing effervescence. Stir gently once with a bar spoon (one or two slow spins) to combine — do not over-stir to avoid flattening the bubbles.

Garnish & Serve

6

Express the oils of the lemon twist over the surface of the cocktail by holding the twist over the drink and giving it a quick fold or squeeze, then rub the peel around the rim of the glass and drop it into the drink.

7

Optional: nest a small sprig of fresh edible elderflower or a mint sprig atop the ice for aroma and visual appeal. Do not muddle.

8

Serve immediately while chilled and effervescent.
