Method

Cocktail

1

Build and stir

Add the BW nocino, bourbon, birch liqueur, simple syrup and BW bitters to a mixing glass. Fill the mixing glass with ice, then stir briskly for 20–30 seconds (about 20–30 revolutions) until the mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted.

2

Prepare glass

Place a large clean rocks glass in front of you and add a large ice cube.

3

Strain and garnish

Using a julep or Hawthorne strainer, strain the chilled cocktail from the mixing glass over the large ice cube in the rocks glass. Express the oils from the orange peel over the surface of the drink by holding the peel about 2–3 inches above the glass and giving it a firm twist, then rub the peel around the glass rim and drop it into the drink (or discard per preference).

4

Serve

Serve immediately. Offer an additional packet of bitters if the guest prefers more aromatic intensity.
