Method

Cocktail

1

Muddle basil

In a cocktail shaker, place 6 fresh basil leaves and the simple syrup. Gently muddle (press and twist) the basil about 6–8 times to release oils without shredding the leaves into tiny pieces.

2

Add liquids

Add 2 oz vanilla vodka, 1 oz Baja Rosé, 1 oz strawberry purée, and 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice to the shaker with the muddled basil.

3

Shake

Add a generous amount of ice (about 1 cup) to the shaker, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is very cold and slightly frosted.

4

Double strain

Fine-strain the cocktail through a Hawthorne or julep strainer and a fine mesh strainer into a chilled martini or coupe glass to remove basil fragments and strawberry seeds for a silky texture.

5

Top with rosé (optional float)

If you prefer a layered finish and slightly brighter aromatics, gently pour an additional 0.25–0.5 oz Baja Rosé over the back of a spoon into the center of the drink to create a delicate float. (This is optional; if omitted, the full rosé amount is already included.)

Garnish & Serve

6

Thread a thin strawberry slice onto a small basil sprig or lay the slice on the rim of the glass. Finish with a small lemon twist tucked beside the basil for an aromatic lift. Serve immediately.
