Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Chill glass (optional)

If desired, place a large wine glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare other ingredients to ensure the cocktail stays colder longer.

  2. 2

Fill a large wine glass generously with ice. The colder and fuller the glass, the better the drink will stay chilled and balanced.

  3. 3

Pour in the Prosecco first (2 oz). Pouring the sparkling wine first helps preserve bubbles and avoids excessive stirring.

  4. 4

Add the Aperol (3 oz) directly over the Prosecco. The classic ratio is roughly 3 parts Aperol to 2 parts Prosecco but can be adjusted to taste.

  5. 5

Top with soda water (1 oz). Gently add the soda to maintain effervescence.

  6. 6

Give the drink one gentle stir (1–2 slow turns) with a long bar spoon to combine the ingredients without flattening the bubbles.

  7. 7

Garnish with an orange slice placed on the rim or floated in the glass.

  8. 8

Serve immediately while cold and effervescent.
