Warm sauces
If sauces are chilled or thick, warm the hot fudge and caramel briefly (10–15 seconds) in the microwave in a small bowl so they pour easily. Stir to smooth.
- 4
Layer sauces
Spoon 3 tablespoons of hot fudge over the chocolate and vanilla scoops, 2 tablespoons of caramel over a portion of the vanilla, and 2 tablespoons of strawberry sauce over the strawberry scoop and adjacent vanilla.
- 5
Add whipped cream
Top the mound of scoops and sauces with about 1 cup of whipped cream, forming a generous cloud on top but leaving some scoops visible.
- 6
Sprinkle crunchy and small toppings
Evenly scatter 2 tablespoons chopped nuts, 1 tablespoon rainbow sprinkles, and 1 tablespoon mini chocolate chips over the whipped cream and exposed ice cream.
- 7
Finish with cherries
Place 1–2 maraschino cherries on top of the whipped cream as a visual crown.
Optional Extras
- 8
Add banana or cookie bits
If using banana, arrange half a sliced banana along the side or beneath scoops before adding sauces. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons cookie or brownie crumbles into or on top of the sundae for extra texture.
- 9
Garnish with wafer
Insert a wafer cookie or rolled wafer into the whipped cream at an angle for height and presentation.
Serve
- 10
Serve immediately with a long spoon. Provide napkins and enjoy. To make multiple sundaes, scale ingredient quantities and assemble each sundae individually so ice cream remains firm.
