Method
Prepare the fruit elements
Extract passionfruit
Cut 2–3 ripe passionfruits in half and scoop the pulp (seeds + juice) into a fine-mesh strainer set over a bowl. Press with the back of a spoon to extract more juice and a little pulp into the bowl. Aim for about 1/2 cup of combined pulp and juice. If you prefer more texture, reserve some of the seeds instead of fully straining.
Juice the oranges to yield about 1/2 cup (one large orange or two small). Strain any large pulp if you want a smoother drink. Measure 1/2 cup guava nectar or juice.
Build and shake
In a cocktail shaker or large jar, combine the passionfruit pulp (or strained juice), 1/2 cup fresh orange juice, 1/2 cup guava nectar, 4 tablespoons Don Q rum (2 Tbsp per serving), 1 tablespoon simple syrup, and 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice.
Add 2 dashes Angostura bitters if using. Fill the shaker with ice (about 1–1.5 cups) and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until well chilled and slightly frothy.
Serve
Garnish each glass with an orange wheel or wedge and a half passionfruit (floating with seeds visible) and a mint sprig if desired. For extra show, squeeze a little orange over the surface just before serving.
Serve immediately. Stir lightly before drinking to incorporate any settled fruit pulp. Adjust sweetness with additional simple syrup to taste.
