Directions
Prepare the Ice Cream Base
In a medium saucepan, combine heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Heat over medium heat until the mixture is warm, stirring occasionally. Do not bring to a boil.
Chill the Mixture
Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature. Then, refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until completely chilled.
Make the Praline
In a separate skillet, combine pecans, brown sugar, and butter over medium heat. Stir constantly until the sugar melts and coats the pecans, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Churn the Ice Cream
Once the ice cream base is chilled, pour it into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes.
Add the Praline
During the last few minutes of churning, add the cooled praline mixture to the ice cream, allowing it to mix in evenly.
Freeze the Ice Cream
Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
