Torte Ingredients

Method

Torte Directions

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

2

Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a double boiler, melt the semisweet chocolate and unsalted butter together, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

3

Mix Sugar and Eggs

In a large mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar and eggs. Whisk together until pale and fluffy.

4

Combine Ingredients

Add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, and stir until well combined. Add flour, vanilla extract, and salt, mixing just until incorporated.

5

Bake the Torte

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

6

Cool and Serve

Allow the torte to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve with whipped cream.
