Method
Meatballs
Prepare Meatball Mixture
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped parsley, cumin, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Shape Meatballs
Using your hands, shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet.
Cook Meatballs
In a large skillet over medium heat, add a little olive oil. Once hot, add the meatballs in batches and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
Chermoula Tomato Sauce
Simmer Sauce
Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer, then add the cooked meatballs back to the skillet. Cover and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
Harissa Crema
Make Harissa Crema
In a small bowl, combine Greek yogurt, harissa paste, lemon juice, and salt. Mix until smooth and well blended.
Pita
Warm Pita Bread
While the sauce simmers, warm the pita bread in a dry skillet or microwave for a few seconds until soft and pliable.
