Steak Preparation

1

Season the Steak

Pat the bone-in ribeye steak dry with paper towels. Generously season both sides of the steak with kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Allow the steak to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

2

Prepare the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill to high heat or heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil to the skillet if using.

3

Cook the Steak

Place the seasoned steak on the grill or skillet. For medium-rare, cook for about 5-6 minutes on one side without moving it. Flip the steak and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C).

4

Add Butter and Herbs

If desired, during the last minute of cooking, add the butter and rosemary sprigs to the skillet. Baste the steak with the melted butter using a spoon.

5

Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 10 minutes on a cutting board. This allows the juices to redistribute.

6

Slice and Serve

Slice the steak against the grain and serve immediately. Optionally, serve with corn on the cob on the side.
