Oysters

Cocktail Sauce

Method

Oysters

1

Shucking the Oysters

Carefully open the oysters using an oyster knife. Hold the oyster in a towel to protect your hand and insert the knife into the hinge of the oyster. Twist the knife gently to pop the shell open, then slide the knife along the inside of the shell to detach the oyster from it. Discard the top shell and keep the oyster on the bottom shell, ensuring no shell fragments are present.

2

Serving the Oysters

Arrange the freshly shucked oysters on a platter. You may add crushed ice underneath to keep them fresh if desired.

Cocktail Sauce

3

Mixing the Sauce

In a medium bowl, combine the ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. Stir well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

4

Adjusting Flavor

Taste the cocktail sauce and adjust the hot sauce to your liking for spiciness. You can also add more horseradish for a stronger flavor if desired.

5

Serving the Sauce

Transfer the cocktail sauce to a small serving bowl and place it next to the platter of oysters for dipping.
