1. Chill the Glass
Place a rocks glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water to chill while preparing the drink.
2. Mix the Ingredients
In a mixing glass, combine the Colonel E.H. Taylor Barrel Proof Bourbon, simple syrup, and Angostura bitters. Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir well until the mixture is chilled.
3. Prepare the Glass
Remove the chilled rocks glass from the freezer or discard the ice water. Add 4 fresh ice cubes to the glass.
4. Strain the Mixture
Using a strainer, pour the mixed ingredients over the ice cubes in the rocks glass.
5. Garnish the Drink
Express the oils from the orange peel over the drink by twisting it, then place it in the glass. Add a maraschino cherry on top for garnish.
