Cocktail

Method

Garnish & Glass

  1. 1

    Chill glass

Place a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes, or fill it with ice water while you build the cocktail to ensure it is nicely chilled.

  2. 2

    Prepare rim

Run the lime wedge around the rim of the chilled glass, then dip the rim into the coarse salt or Tajín to coat evenly. Set the glass aside and discard the lime wedge used for rimming.

  3. 3

Prepare garnish: slice one lime wheel and, if using, scoop 15 ml (about 1 tablespoon) of passion fruit seeds/pulp into a small spoon or container so it's ready to float atop the drink.

Cocktail

  1. 4

Add the measured ingredients to a cocktail shaker: 60 ml Milagro Silver Tequila, 30 ml triple sec, 30 ml fresh lime juice, 45 ml passion fruit puree, and 15 ml simple syrup.

  2. 5

Fill the shaker with approximately 1 cup of ice cubes (enough to chill well) and secure the lid.

  3. 6

    Shake

Shake vigorously for 12–18 seconds until the shaker is very cold to the touch and the mixture is well combined and diluted.

  4. 7

Remove the chilled glass from the freezer or empty and dry the glass if you used ice water. Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared chilled, rimmed coupe or martini glass using the shaker strainer and a fine mesh strainer to remove pulp and ice shards for a smooth, 'up' presentation.

  5. 8

Garnish by floating the lime wheel on the surface. If using, spoon the 15 ml of fresh passion fruit seeds/pulp gently on top of the drink for aroma and visual appeal.

  6. 9

Serve immediately while cold. Optionally, offer a straw or stir stick for those who prefer to mix the garnish into the drink.
