Hushpuppies

Method

Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Batter

In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

2

Add Dill and Salmon

Stir in the chopped dill and flaked salmon until evenly distributed.

3

Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and egg. Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture, stirring until just combined.

4

Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

5

Fry the Hushpuppies

Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.

6

Drain and Serve

Remove the hushpuppies from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with aioli.
