Base

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add milk, melted butter, coconut extract, lemon zest, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

Baking

  1. 5

    Bake the Base

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  2. 6

    Add Toppings

Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool for about 10 minutes. Then, sprinkle the shredded coconut and fresh blueberries on top.

  3. 7

    Finish with Powdered Sugar

Dust the top with powdered sugar before serving for an extra touch of sweetness.
