Cocktail
Method
Cocktail
Chill glass
Place a martini or coupe glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes, or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to chill the glass.
Combine ingredients
Add vodka, Chambord, and pineapple juice to a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) so the liquid will chill quickly and dilute slightly.
Shake
Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds, until the shaker is well chilled and you see frost on the outside. This also helps create a slight froth from the pineapple juice.
Strain
Discard the ice/water from the chilled glass if used. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled martini or coupe glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine-mesh strainer (or just the shaker strainer) to remove ice chips and achieve a smooth surface.
Garnish & serve
Carefully float a fresh pineapple wedge on the rim or drop a lemon twist into the drink for aromatic lift. Serve immediately.
