Muddle
In a mixing glass, muddle the sage leaves with the vanilla maple syrup to release the aromatic oils.
Combine
Add the Bulliet Bourbon, Tawny Port, and aromatic bitters to the mixing glass.
Stir
Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes and stir well until the mixture is chilled.
Strain
Strain the mixture into an old-fashioned glass over fresh ice.
Garnish
Express the oils from the orange peel over the drink and drop it in as a garnish.
