Oysters

Garlic Butter Mixture

Method

Prepare the Oysters

1

Clean the Oysters

Rinse the fresh oysters under cold running water to remove any dirt or debris. Use a brush if needed to scrub the shells.

2

Open the Oysters

Using an oyster knife, carefully pry open each oyster, discarding the top shell. Leave the oyster in the bottom shell and arrange them on a baking sheet.

Make the Garlic Butter Mixture

3

Melt the Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Be careful not to let it brown.

4

Add Garlic and Herbs

Once the butter is melted, add minced garlic, chopped parsley, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Stir well to combine and cook for another 2 minutes on low heat to infuse the flavors.

Broil the Oysters

5

Preheat the Broiler

Preheat your oven's broiler to high. Place the oven rack about 6 inches from the heating element.

6

Top the Oysters

Spoon the garlic butter mixture generously over each oyster in the shell.

7

Broil the Oysters

Place the baking sheet with the oysters under the broiler. Broil for about 5-7 minutes, or until the oysters are cooked through and the tops are bubbly and golden.

Serve

8

Plate the Oysters

Carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the oysters cool slightly. Serve hot on a platter, garnished with extra parsley if desired.

9

Enjoy

Serve with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the oysters and enjoy your delicious broiled oysters!
