Prepare the Breading
In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well.
Coat the Seafood
Dredge the shrimp and calamari in the breading mixture until well coated. Shake off any excess flour.
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Seafood
Carefully add the coated shrimp and calamari to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Make the Spicy Butter Sauce
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley. Add additional cayenne pepper to taste for extra spice.
