Method

Fried Diablo Directions

1

Prepare the Breading

In a large bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well.

2

Coat the Seafood

Dredge the shrimp and calamari in the breading mixture until well coated. Shake off any excess flour.

3

Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

4

Fry the Seafood

Carefully add the coated shrimp and calamari to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

5

Make the Spicy Butter Sauce

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley. Add additional cayenne pepper to taste for extra spice.

6

Combine and Serve

Toss the fried shrimp and calamari in the spicy butter sauce until evenly coated. Serve immediately with lemon wedges.
