Biscuit Dough

Method

Instructions

1

Prepare the Biscuit Dough

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the buttermilk until just combined.

2

Roll Out the Dough

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Roll it into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.

3

Make the Cinnamon Filling

In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, butter, and nutmeg. Spread this mixture over the rolled-out biscuit dough.

4

Add Toppings

Sprinkle dried cranberries and chopped pecans evenly over the cinnamon filling.

5

Roll and Cut

Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice it into 12 equal pieces. Place the slices in a greased baking dish.

6

Bake

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake the biscuits for about 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

7

Prepare the Vanilla Icing

While the biscuits bake, whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.

8

Drizzle the Icing

Once the biscuits are baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Drizzle the vanilla icing over the warm biscuits before serving.
