Beef Patty Preparation

Caramelizing Onions
Making Old Fashioned Sauce
Combine Ingredients
In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
Assembling the Patty Melt
Cook Patties
In the same skillet used for the onions, add a little more olive oil if needed and heat over medium-high heat. Cook the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the desired doneness is reached. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of American cheese on each patty to melt.
Assemble Sandwiches
Spread a generous amount of the old fashioned sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place the melted cheese patty on top, followed by a portion of caramelized onions. Top with the other half of the bun.
