Sparkling Spritz Base

Method

Prepare Glass & Chill

1

Chill glass

Place a wine glass or large goblet in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare ingredients to ensure the drink stays cold.

2

If using ice water to chill, discard the ice water before building the drink.

Build the Spritz

3

Add ice

Fill the chilled wine glass about two-thirds full with large ice cubes (approximately 6 cubes). Large cubes melt slower and maintain carbonation.

4

Pour Lyre's Italian Orange

Measure and pour 3 oz of Lyre's Italian Orange over the ice. Pouring first coats the ice and glass for even mixing.

5

Add citrus and sweetener

Add 0.5 oz fresh blood orange juice and 0.25 oz light simple syrup into the glass. These brighten and balance the bitter/aperitif notes.

6

Add sparkling non‑alcoholic wine

Slowly pour 3 oz of chilled non‑alcoholic sparkling white wine into the glass. Pour gently down the side to preserve bubbles and layering.

7

Top with soda

Finish by topping with 1 oz chilled soda water to add a light effervescence and to lift the flavors.

8

Gentle stir

Give the drink one or two gentle short stirs with a bar spoon (avoid vigorous stirring to keep carbonation). The goal is to integrate ingredients while retaining foam and bubbles.

Garnish & Serve

9

Place one fresh orange slice on the rim or float it in the glass. Add an optional lemon twist over the surface to express oils and drop it in for aroma.

10

Serve immediately with a short straw or stirrer. Recommend enjoying within a few minutes to appreciate the sparkle.
