Bottle & Serving
Optional: Stirred Old Fashioned Variant
Method
Bottle & Serving
Select a clean rocks glass (old-fashioned glass).
Place one large ice cube or two large cubes into the glass. A single large cube is preferred to minimize dilution while chilling.
Measure 60 ml (2 US oz) of Four Roses Single Barrel and pour it over the ice in the glass.
Serve immediately. Sip slowly to appreciate the bourbon's aromas and flavors.
Optional: Stirred Old Fashioned Variant
Prepare simple base
If you prefer a slightly sweeter, classic Old Fashioned profile, add 5 ml (about 1 teaspoon) simple syrup and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters to the rocks glass before adding ice.
Combine and stir
Add the large ice cube(s) and 60 ml Four Roses Single Barrel. Stir gently for 15–20 seconds to properly chill and dilute the drink to balance the added syrup and bitters.
Garnish
Express a citrus peel over the cocktail, rub it along the rim, and drop it in as garnish. Optionally add a Luxardo cherry.
Serve immediately.
