Method
Prepare Glasses
- 1
Half-salt the rim
Choose two old-fashioned or rocks glasses. Run a lime wedge around the outer half of each rim. Spread the kosher salt on a small plate and gently press the rim's salted portion into the salt so only half the rim is coated. Set glasses in the freezer or aside with a few ice cubes to chill while you make the cocktail.

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice (about 1 to 1 1/2 cups). Add the fresh lime juice, Hornitos tequila, triple sec, and simple syrup (or agave).
- 3
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty and the ingredients are well chilled and slightly diluted.
