Method
Mix the base
- 1
Combine dry ingredients
In a medium bowl or a 16-20 oz jar, add 1 cup rolled oats, 2 tbsp chia seeds and 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder. Stir briefly to distribute the cocoa and chia evenly through the oats.

- 3
Taste quickly and adjust sweetness — add up to 1 more teaspoon maple syrup if you prefer sweeter oats. The mixture should be thick but pourable; if it seems very thick, add 1-2 tbsp more milk.
Chill & hydrate

Finish & serve

After chilling, stir the oats to loosen. If mixture is too thick, stir in 1–3 tbsp milk until you reach desired consistency.
- 6
Top the oats with 3/4 cup fresh mixed berries, sprinkle 1 tsp extra chia seeds and 1 tbsp toasted sliced almonds (if using). Drizzle with 1 tsp maple syrup if additional sweetness is desired.

Serve chilled. Leftovers: cover and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Stir before eating and add extra milk if needed.
