Cocktail Base
Topping & Finish
Method
Prepare Raspberry Puree
Make puree
Place about 4–6 fresh raspberries in a small bowl or measuring cup. Muddle thoroughly until broken down, then press through a fine-mesh strainer with the back of a spoon to yield about 1 oz of smooth raspberry puree (approximately 2 tablespoons). Discard seeds.
Build the Cocktail
Combine base spirits
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add 2 oz Ketel One vodka, 1 oz Mouse Kingdom dark berry liqueur, 1 oz fresh raspberry puree, and 0.5 oz combined fresh citrus juice (use a 50/50 mix of lemon and lime for brightness).
Shake
Shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted. This chills and lightly dilutes the mixture while integrating the raspberry puree.
Strain
Double-strain the shaken mixture into a chilled Collins or highball glass filled about three-quarters with fresh ice to keep the drink clear of seeds and large pulp pieces.
Finish & Garnish
Top with soda and shimmer
Gently top the strained cocktail with about 3 oz cold soda water. Stir once very gently to combine. Add 0.25 tsp edible shimmer (a small pinch of liquid or powder luster dust formulated for beverages); stir gently so the shimmer is evenly suspended, creating a sparkling effect.
Garnish
Thread 2–3 fresh raspberries onto a small pick or place them on top of the ice. Add one lemon twist on the rim for aroma. Serve immediately so shimmer remains suspended and visually striking.
