Ensure the Prosecco has been chilled to 6–8°C (43–46°F) for best aromatic and effervescence expression. If needed, place bottle in an ice bucket for 15–20 minutes before service.

Chill Prosecco

Select a clean flute or white wine glass. If you prefer the glass lightly chilled, place it in the fridge for 5–10 minutes or hold it briefly in the ice bucket (do not over-chill or leave ice inside the glass). Wipe the rim with a bar towel so there are no water spots.

Prepare glass

Hold the glass at a slight angle (about 45°) and gently pour 125 ml of Prosecco down the side to preserve bubbles and produce a fine mousse. Aim to pour slowly over 10–15 seconds to minimize foaming and spillage. Stop when you reach the 125 ml measure (roughly half to two-thirds of a flute depending on shape).

Pour

Express a lemon peel over the glass by holding it skin-side down and giving it a quick twist 2–3 inches above the surface to spray the citrus oils onto the wine. Optionally, rub the peel briefly on the rim and then drop the twist into the glass or place it on the rim.

Garnish

Present the glass on a napkin or bar towel. For a bottomless brunch service, keep the bottle chilled in an ice bucket and refill to 125 ml per guest as requested. If a split or small bottle is being used and you run low, top carefully with additional chilled Prosecco — do not add sparkling water unless requested.

Serve

Rapid chill: If the bottle is at room temperature, place it in an ice and water bath with a handful of salt for 8–10 minutes to bring it down to serving temperature quickly. Rotate the bottle a few times to chill evenly.

To highlight the wine's citrus and elegant character, serve in a narrower flute to concentrate aromas. Keep pours consistent at 125 ml to maintain fair bottomless service. Avoid vigorous swirling which will dissipate the bubbles and alter the tasting experience.
