Build and Shake
Add Dutch Barn Black Cherry Vodka (2 oz), Kaveri Ginger Aperitif (0.75 oz), cherry purée or juice (0.5 oz), fresh apple juice (1 oz), fresh lime juice (0.5 oz), and simple syrup (0.25 oz) into a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup).
Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is cold and well-chilled. This both chills the cocktail and slightly dilutes it for balance.
Strain and Top
Double-strain the mixture into a chilled Collins or highball glass filled with fresh ice to remove small ice shards and any fruit solids. Gently top with 2 oz club soda or sparkling wine to add the 'bubble' — pour slowly to preserve effervescence.
Give the drink a very gentle stir (1–2 revolutions) to integrate the soda without flattening it.
Garnish
Skewer the pitted cherry (or use a brandied cherry) on a cocktail pick and rest across the rim, or drop it into the drink. Add a thin apple slice or fan at the rim and optionally a lime wheel for visual contrast and a hint of aroma.
Serve immediately while bubbles are lively.
