Aperol Spritz Cocktail
Method
Aperol Spritz Cocktail
Prepare glass
Fill a large wine glass (or an old-fashioned glass) generously with ice cubes so the glass is about three-quarters full. Chilling the glass first is optional but recommended.
Build the drink
Pour 3 tablespoons (about 1.5 fl oz) of Aperol over the ice. Add 3 ounces of chilled Prosecco directly on top of the Aperol.
Top with soda
Gently add 1 ounce of chilled soda water. Pour slowly or tilt the glass and pour over the back of a spoon to preserve effervescence and create a layered effect.
Stir gently
Use a bar spoon to stir gently two to three times to combine the Aperol, Prosecco, and soda without flattening the bubbles.
Garnish and serve
Garnish with 1 fresh orange wheel or slice on the rim or floated in the drink. Serve immediately while chilled and fizzy.
