Preparing the Vada

Soak the Dal

Soak the split urad dal in water for at least 4 hours or overnight. Drain and rinse.

Blend the Dal

In a blender, combine the soaked urad dal, grated ginger, green chilies, and salt. Blend to a smooth batter, adding a little water if necessary.

Fry the Vadas

Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Once hot, drop spoonfuls of the batter into the oil and fry until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Preparing the Ginger Yoghurt Sauce

Mix the Ingredients

In a bowl, combine yoghurt, grated ginger, salt, cumin powder, black salt, and chaat masala. Whisk until smooth. Add water to reach desired consistency.

Assembly

Soak the Vadas

Place the fried vadas in a bowl of water for about 10 minutes to soften. Then gently squeeze out excess water.

Serve

Arrange the soaked vadas on a serving plate and pour the ginger yoghurt sauce over them. Garnish with chopped coriander.
